Peg & Awl
This perfect list-sized tablet will replace any number of scraps on desktops, refrigerators, bedside tables et cetera. Reminiscent of an old schoolhouse slate, it is great for grocery lists, sketches, messages and plans. Wee children can spill out their imaginations on this black board. It is a blank slate that is waiting to be filled.
The board is sanded smooth though it may show signs of the wood's prior use such as nail burn holes, nails, bug holes etc. There is a hole in the top for hanging. Please note, due to the nature of the materials used, each tablet will vary slightly.
Made from reclaimed wood and reclaimed black leather (WWII Spats, WWII Gun Holster, Early 1900s purse etc). Hole in top for hanging. Each tablet comes with one Koh-I-Noor chalk pencil.*

Peg & Awl is a husband and wife team, with a boy called Søren and a boy called Silas. They live and work in Philadelphia, Penn. Their work is made from olde things, treasures found and recovered from misfortune and neglect, relics of the unusual, the confused and the macabre, cut and pulled and built into wearable curiosities, inscribable keepsakes and useable, longlasting treasures. They used to make them for themselves, and now they make them for everyone.
*Koh-I-Noor chalk pencils bare a label which reads: "Warning: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer." The chemical in question is Titanium dioxide. Valued for its bright white pigment, titanium dioxide is used as the whitening agent not only in chalk but also in sunscreen, toothpaste, skim milk and white tattoo ink.
