Oliver likes to practice accordion after breakfast. He says he's been playing for about two and a half years, so he's getting pretty good. Now that Ella Toad is learning the recorder, they want to play duets together. They're practicing "The Eensy Weensy Spider," which they hope to play at Emma Rabbit's next tea party. It still needs some work.
Oliver is made of gray organic cotton fleece. He's about 14" tall. His eyes, nose, and whiskers are hand stitched with cotton thread. He is stuffed with polyfill, so you can hand wash him and he will air dry, no worse for the wear.
Hazel Village was started in 2010 by Jane Van Cleef. She always loved making things, and found inspiration for Hazel village in what she loved growing up. Annicke Mouse was the first Hazel Village doll, and after making a few more woodland friends, the world of Hazel Village became clear to her.
In the eight years since Hazel Village started, they've expanded their ability to produce the animals responsibly, striving for heirloom quality at a reasonable price.
Hazel Village is named after the American Hazelnut tree: a source of delicious nuts, magical divining rods, useful twigs for basketry, and food for caterpillars.
