Sophie Allport and her brother Jem were brought up in Potterhanworth, just outside Lincoln, in the United Kingdom. After graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1994, Sophie was invited to demonstrate her skills at the Country Living Fair in London in 1996 and decided to have a few of her illustrations made into cards and limited edition prints. They proved a sell out and in 2007, when her brother Jem joined her, Sophie Allport Limited was born. As a qualified chartered accountant, Jem has supplied the business acumen and drive to expand sourcing and sales of the Sophie Allport range, leaving Sophie free to focus on design and product development.
Sophie, her husband and three boys live in the countryside just outside of Stamford in Lincolnshire.
